Q3 Unit 3: How does Jacek Yerka’s artworks inspire me?

It was love at first sight. I fell in love with the artworks of Yerka at first glance. It is inevitably apparent to notice that the paintings have a deep sense of surrealism in it. I believe that I have finally discovered the style of art that I am into. Unlike other surreal artworks, the meanings behind each component of his paintings can be clearly interpreted. Yerka’s artworks have made me see my ability of letting my imaginations run wild and do anything as I want that might be impossible in the real world, using nothing else but the tip of a brush.

For example, his artwork entitled ‘Summer Radio’ demonstrates how I can create my own world through an artwork. In my opinion, I interpret this artwork as the imagination of my dream bedroom. All of the clocks on the sides of the bed display the same time, as if I am able to pause and continue time as I want. The happy times can be stopped and kept as a memory forever. Sweetness, greenery and peacefulness are represented by the strawberry trees and green grass surrounding the bed. Besides that, there is nothing else better than enjoying a picnic in this jolly room and hearing the sound of waves hitting the shore.
